Alejandra Ramos is the host of The Great American Recipe, premiering June 24 on PBS. Alejandra is a television host, TODAY Show food & lifestyle contributor, trained chef, and food writer known for creative recipes and entertaining ideas that are playful, improvisational, and always just a little bit extra.
In addition to her regular appearances on TODAY Show and Telemundo, Alejandra hosts cooking videos and classes on the Food Network Kitchen app, appears as a chef personality on the Cooking Channel show “Food: Fact or Fiction?” and is a co-host of “Today’s Deals Live” and “At Home Cooking” on Amazon Live. Alejandra contributes original recipes and essays to a number of publications including TODAY Food, NBCNews.com, Cosmopolitan, The Kitchn, and O the Oprah Magazine.
Before pivoting to a career on television, Alejandra worked in various parts of the food and media industry; she was an International Editions Editor at Hearst Magazines, was the contributing food writer and photographer for Cosmo for Latinas magazine (RIP), taught a series of popular dinner party style cooking classes in Manhattan, helmed the kitchen at a yoga retreat center in Vermont, and ran an underground mail order bakery and dessert catering business for one very exhausting year.
Alejandra was born in New York City to Puerto Rican parents and is fluent in spoken and written Spanish. She studied at The George Washington University in Washington, DC, and Apicius International School of Hospitality in Florence, Italy. Alejandra lives in New York with her husband, their dog, many tropical plants, and a fridge full of cheese and charcuterie. Alejandra loves the beach, chorizo, colorful dresses, red lipstick, airplane window seats, gardening, British detective shows, and cozy food-themed murder mysteries.

Leah Cohen
Leah Cohen is a judge on The Great American Recipe. Leah is the chef and owner of acclaimed New York City restaurant Pig & Khao on the Lower East Side. A 2013 StarChefs Rising Stars Award recipient, Leah’s Filipino upbringing and annual expeditions to the region are reflected in her cooking philosophy, which stays true to authentic Southeast Asian flavors while incorporating classical western techniques.
