Adrienne Asch
, the Henry R. Luce Professor in Biology, Ethics and
the Politics of Human Reproduction at Wellesley College, has written
extensively on the ethical, psychological, social, and political implications
of scientific advances and human reproduction. She has authored numerous
articles and book chapters, including After
Baby M: The Legal, Ethical and Social Dimensions of Surrogacy with A.R.
Schiff; she also edited Prenatal Testing
and Disability Rights with Erik
Parens. Asch has served on several state and national policy advisory
committees including the Bioethics Working Group of the Clinton Task Force on
Health Care Reform and the National Commission on Childhood Disability. She
currently serves on the National Human Genome Research Instituteās Policy
Planning Group on Ethical, Legal and Social Implications. Professor Asch holds
an M.S. in Social Work and a Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Columbia
University.
