The new novel, “That Old Cape Magic,” tells the story of English professor Jack Griffin, who is caught between childhood memories and unfulfilled promise, all coming together in coastal New England. Its author is Richard Russo, who won the Pulitzer Prize for “Empire Falls” and wrote the screenplay for the HBO series.
