For Austin Kleon, an exercise for breaking writer’s block developed into a method for creating poetry. Using a marker and a copy of the New York Times, Kleon blacks out words to reveal the ones he likes. Kleon works as a web designer in Austin, Texas, but manages to draw and write in his free time.
