Today we present a few more snippets from the convention’s comedy session. Emceeing was University of Chicago economist Austan Goolsbee, a former adviser to President Obama. Goolsbee was named “D.C.’s Funniest Celebrity” in a competition that also featured Sam Wurzelbacher, a.k.a. “Joe the Plumber,” U.S. News and World Report’s Anna Mulrine, Americans for Tax Reform’s Grover Norquist, WDCA-TV’s Count Gore De Vol, Rep. Rick Larsen, D-Wash., Rep. Jackie Speier, D-Calif., and Chef Geoff, among others. Though he didn’t perform a routine of his own, Goolsbee did tell this anecdote about Nobel laureate George Stigler.
