Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin offered condolences for the families of U.S. service members killed in Kabul today.

“We mourn their loss. We will treat their wounds. And we will support their families in what will most assuredly be devastating grief,” he said in a statement. “But we will not be dissuaded from the task at hand.”

He did not confirm the death toll.
