She is Sara Just, currently the Deputy Washington Bureau Chief for ABC News. A 25-year veteran of ABC News, Sara worked at “Nightline” for 17 years and served as Acting Executive Producer when that program was being redesigned. She has also been a member of the network’s senior digital management team and played a key role in coordinating news coverage with digital strategy. She has earned many Emmy, Dupont and Peabody awards for her work…and she’s been nominated for several Webbys. I think Sara is a great choice — she understands what we’re all about and has great respect for the commitment to quality journalism that the NewsHour represents. She is very enthusiastic about the opportunity to work with a staff as dedicated as you all are to expand the house that Robin and Jim built. As luck would have it, she’ll be starting her NewsHour career on Sept. 2, which happens to be the one year anniversary of Gwen and Judy’s co-anchoring, as well as our expanded commitment to multi-platform reporting.
