Live Results: Arizona election 2024

This Sun Belt state could make or break the presidential race this year. The state has 11 electoral college votes up for grabs, and arguably both candidates could use it as a clear path to victory.

Other than former President Bill Clinton’s win in 1996, the state voted Republican in presidential races between 1952 and 2016. President Joe Biden won the state in 2020 by only 10,500 votes.

According to the UCLA Latino Policy Institute, the Latino-eligible voter population in Arizona has more than doubled since 2000, now making up 25 percent of the state’s electorate.

After former President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, Arizona became ground zero for election denialism. A number of their election workers received threats and harassment, and their largest county — Maricopa — was criticized by conspiracy theorists for finding no fault in the election process.

Following the election, the Arizona Senate Republicans launched a “forensic audit” of the results and found no discrepancies between their findings and the results in November.
