Utah Gov. Spencer Cox will deliver the 2026 State of the State address to lawmakers and the people of Utah before a joint session of the state legislature in Salt Lake City on Thursday, Jan. 22.

Watch coverage Thursday of Cox's speech, courtesy of PBS Utah, in the player above beginning at 8:30 p.m. EST. PBS Utah is also providing a Spanish language live stream.

Cox, a Republican, was first elected in 2020. He has been active in efforts to promote civic engagement with more respectful and less partisan dialogue.

Last year, shortly after the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk at a Utah university, Cox called the shooting "our moment" to choose a darker or brighter future.

Coverage of the governor's State of the State address will also include a Democratic response from minority leadership in the Utah Legislature, as well as political analysis from PBS Utah and KUER News.
