For much of the time the Macando well was gushing into the Gulf of Mexico, we streamed live video to millions of viewers through this widget, and the video embedded at the top of our full coverage page. With the well capped but not yet permanently killed, we’re changing our coverage to make sure you still get the most useful information we can provide. On Thursday, we swapped out the video for a feed of the latest headlines in our ongoing coverage of the Gulf oil disaster’s aftermath. You can still watch live video from the Gulf on our site, or embed the player from our UStream channel. We’ll continue to report from the Gulf of Mexico and cover the ongoing impact of the largest offshore oil spill in American history, helped in part by a grant from the National Science Foundation. We're not going anywhere. Stand up for truly independent, trusted news that you can count on! Donate now By — Chris Amico Chris Amico
