JUDY WOODRUFF: Finally tonight, our NewsHour Shares moment of the day.Something that caught our eye was this tweet from historian Michael Beschloss, pointing to four historic events that happened during this week in 1973. PRESIDENT RICHARD NIXON: We stand on the threshold. JUDY WOODRUFF: First, President Nixon was inaugurated for his second term in office. Just two days later, his predecessor, former President Lyndon Johnson, suffered a heart attack and died.In that same 72-hour period, the Supreme Court ruled in a landmark case, Roe vs. Wade, which affirmed a woman's right to have an abortion. And a peace agreement was reached between the U.S. and the North Vietnamese during a meeting in Paris.
