Nebraska executes inmate using powerful opioid fentanyl

Nebraska carried out its first execution in more than two decades on Tuesday with a drug combination never tried before, including the first use of the powerful opioid fentanyl in a lethal injection.

Arkansas executes first person in 12 years

A week ago, Arkansas planned to execute seven men in 11 days. Ledell Lee was put to death late Thursday, and three more men are scheduled to be executed.
