Average long-term mortgage rates rise again, reaching their highest level in 4 weeks

The latest increase follows a nine-week string of declines at the end of last year that lowered the average rate after it surged in late October to 7.79 percent, the highest level since late 2000.

UK mortgage rates jump to highest level since tax cuts spooked markets

Financial information company Moneyfacts says the average rate for a five-year fixed rate mortgage in the U.K. hit 6.01% on Tuesday from 5.97% the previous day.
