One year after a deadly wildfire, Paradise pauses to remember

Californians on Friday commemorated the day when a terrifying blaze blew through the town and prompted a panicked evacuation that forced some people to abandon their cars as the fire closed in on gridlocked roads.

Paradise rebuilds, but is it safer a year after California wildfire?

About 3,000 people have come back, and nearly 200 grocery stores, restaurants and businesses have reopened in Paradise, California.

California fires insurance claims at $9 billion and expected to rise

Collectively, the fires destroyed or damaged more than 20,000 structures, with the vast majority in and around Paradise. On Tuesday, state and federal authorities estimated it will cost at least $3 billion just to clear debris.
