Two opera singers who accused Placido Domingo of sexual misconduct said Tuesday that it was disappointing and disturbing that the opera legend recently claimed he has always behaved like a gentleman and never acted improperly toward women.
The opera star resigned as general director of the Los Angeles Opera and withdrew from future performances at the company following multiple allegations of sexual harassment.
In a brief statement Tuesday, the opera company said it has hired Debra Wong Yang from the law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher to lead the investigation.
Numerous women have accused the opera legend of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior spanning decades.
