Make this year’s Halloween party a huge hit — if you dare! Follow the steps below to get ideas for fang-tastic activities, spooky decorations, and boo-licious recipes to delight and mystify your guests. Get your family ready fast with easy no-sew costumes and quick favor ideas.

Party Planning Timeline

4 weeks before the party: Send invitations

3 weeks before the party: Begin collecting materials to make decorations and favors, especially for projects using recyclable materials.

2 weeks before the party: Make costumes!

1 week before the party: Prep your menu and make decorations. Confirm RSVPs.

The day before the party: Decorate and make spooky treats.

The day of the party: Finish decorating and help your child into their costume! Wait to set out food until just before the guests arrive. We suggest the following order of activities to help the day go smoothly.

  1. Check Out the Halloween Costumes!

  2. Leave Fears at the Door

    Invite your guests to write down or draw pictures representing what they are afraid of and how they overcome their fears. Then, hang up the ghosts as a community decoration.

  3. Play a Ghoulish Game
