Make Bat Wings for Water Bottles

Elinor’s friend Ari is funny and kind. Surprise guests at your “Elinor Wonders Why” birthday party by serving water bottles dressed like Ari. Wrap miniature water bottles with green construction paper to match Ari’s favorite shirt. Then, add brown batwings to finish decorating.
Materials
Directions
Trim the green paper into strips measuring 1.5”x11.”

Tape one end of the green paper strip to the center of the water bottle. Wrap the rest of the strip around the bottle and secure with another piece of tape.

Draw a simple wing shape onto the brown paper measuring roughly 3” wide. Add a small square tab to the inside edge of the wing. This will be what you fold and tape to secure to the bottle.

Cut out the batwing and, using it as a template, trace more wings onto the brown paper. You’ll need two wings for each water bottle you’re serving. After you’ve drawn the amount of wings you’ll need, cut each one out.

Secure the wings to each bottle. Fold the small tab and press it flatly against the side of the water bottle. Secure with tape.

That’s it! It’s really easy to make a bunch of little Ari bottles for your “Elinor Wonders Why” birthday party. These can be made several days (or longer) in advance of your party, so that’s one more thing you can check off your list!
If you want to get creative, you can try and decorate bottles as all of the friends! Use gray and blue construction paper for Olive, and red and purple for Elinor!
