Bookworm Centerpiece

Rip several pages out of the used book.

Lightly accordion fold each page. Staple at the bottom to hold the folds in place.

With your scissors, round the corners of each folded book page.

Layer your folded book pages in a straight line, slightly overlapping. Staple them together at the bottom to secure.

Continue layering until you have used about 8 of your folded book pages. Hint - make sure to use plenty of staples.

Repeat Steps 4 and 5 until you have made a second strip of 8 folded book pages.

Stack your 2 strips of book pages, one on top of the other. Staple them together.

Gently pull the fold apart and fluff with your fingers to create volume. If necessary, you can add more staples along the bottom for stability.

Repeat Steps 4-8 until you have a book page 'bookworm' long enough to decorate the length of your party table.

Place the Styrofoam circle on top of your sheet of card stock and cut around it.

Glue the card stock circle to the front of the Styrofoam to create the bookworm's face.

Add 2 googly eyes to the face, followed by a pom-pom nose and red pipe cleaner mouth.

Cut 2 pieces of black pipe cleaner. Glue your remaining 2 pom-poms to the end of each pipe cleaner.

Insert both of the pipe cleaners into the top of the 'head' of the bookworm to make the antennae.

Form 2 circles with 2 black pipe cleaners.

Twist the 2 pipe cleaner circles together to create a pair of glasses for your bookworm.

Fold the glasses around the bookworm's head and attach it with glue.

Glue the Styrofoam head of your bookworm to the book page pom-pom body and you are all set!
