Design Your Own Plant Super Hero
Examine different types of plants and how they clean the air to make it better for us to breathe. Then, draw your own plant superhero that can help save your family from pollutants in the air!
Before You Play
Your child will need a partner for this activity. Before designing, explore types of plants that clean the air with the first page of the “Design Your Own Plant Superhero” printable. If possible, preview the Cyberchase episode “Plantasaurus!” with your child.
Materials
Directions
One person will go first. On the top section of the “Draw Page” printable, have your child draw the head/flower of his plant superhero. He should keep his drawing hidden from his partner.
When your child is finished, have him draw two lines that come down a little below the dotted line to show the neck or stem of his superhero.
Have him fold the top half back along the dotted line, then pass the drawing to his partner. The next person will draw the middle part of your child's superhero/stem, starting with the lines from the top.
When the middle section is finished, draw two lines that come down a little below the dotted line again. Then, fold the middle section back along the dotted line, then pass the paper back to your child to draw the bottom/roots of his plant superhero.
When he is finished, ask him to unfold the paper to see his creation.
