Trick or tree-t! This spooky tree is fun to decorate, makes great candy displays, and adds just the right combo of cute and creepy to any setting. Here's how you can can make your own!

Materials

Directions

1

Spray or hand paint the branch a dark color.

2

Rip fabric into strips so the edges are frayed. Cut into workable, short pieces.

3

Using your finger or a popsicle stick, spread a layer of glue over a fabric strip. Lay the strip on top of the foam base and spread flat. Repeat the process until the foam is completely covered. Let it dry.

4

To make a tree-dwelling spider: glue small and large black buttons side-by-side to the base. Add 8 pieces of yarn to create the legs and place the base on a plate.

5

Use scissors to punch a hole in the top of the base. Push the branch firmly into the foam.

6

Make a candy corn garland: use a needle and thread to string candy and beads. Hint: it helps to tie the knot around each bead to keep them in place. Drape the garland on the spooky tree. Spread the excess candy corn around the base.

7

Make button ornaments: layer a smaller button on top of a contrasting colored big button. String a small piece of jewelry wire through button holes. Twist the wire around a branch to secure it to the tree. Repeat for as many button ornaments as desired.

8

Make Halloween bows: cut the Halloween-themed ribbon into varying sized pieces. Randomly tie them into bows and knots throughout the tree.

9

Finish your spooky tree by adding novelty webbing to any remaining, barren places on the tree. Have a spooktacular October!
