Materials

Directions

1

Clean the ten plastic bottles thoroughly, then remove the caps.

2

Figure out how you want to paint your bottles. You can use ten different colors of paint, paint the bottles one color or create a unique color scheme.

3

Squirt a small amount of paint into each water bottle. If your paint is pretty thick, add one teaspoon of water to each bottle to make the paint runnier. Don't add too much water or your paint won't be thick enough to cover the bottle properly.

4

Put the caps back on all of your bottles and make sure that they are tightly secured.

5

Shake each bottle vigorously to spread the paint throughout the bottle.

6

Remove the caps and pour out any excess liquid. Keep the caps off and allows your paint bottles to dry overnight.

7

When dry, put the caps back on your bottles. Note: If you're worried your kids will be able to open the bottles, use the glue gun to glue the lids back on.

8

Grab a ball and start bowling!

More Ways to Have Fun:

  • Try bowling on different surfaces, such as grass or cement. How does the surface affect the game?
  • Change the distance from where you start bowling. Does the distance affect how you throw the ball?
  • Use the bottles as targets for a ring toss, using paper plates with the insides cut out.
