Temperature Scavenger Hunt
Examine differences in temperature by using a thermometer to measure the temperature of cups of water placed in different locations around your home.
Before You Play
If possible, preview the Cyberchase episode “A Murky Mystery in Mermaidos” with your child.
Materials
Directions
Explain to your child that there are many things that can make a place hotter or colder. Ask him to name a few. If he gets stuck, you can suggest the sun, a fan, a refrigerator, a heater, or the temperature of nearby air or water.
Ask your child to think about different places in your home, then list three things that could make each place hotter and three things that could make them colder on the “Temperature Scavenger Hunt” printable.
