Directions
Have your child wrap tape around both bottles to fasten them together.
Ask your child to make a wide strip from the teal construction paper that wraps around both bottles. Be sure the necks of the bottles are visible. Tell your child not tape in place yet. Lay strip flat.
Help your child (if needed) cut out these shapes from construction paper:
- 1 black rectangle
- 4 thin, black strips
- 2 white ovals
- 2 yellow ovals (larger than the white ovals)
- 1 red hot dog shape
- 2 orange rectangles (to wrap around bottle necks)
- 2 white triangles
Have your child paste the shapes on the teal paper to make Buzz's face. Then, he can draw Buzz's eyeballs and a line across his mouth. Add white triangles as teeth.
After your child wraps Buzz's face around the bottles, he should tape or paste in place. He can add arms and legs if he likes.
Label the orange rectangles SAVING and SPENDING. Have your child wrap them around the bottlenecks to make Buzz's antennas, then tape or paste the ends together. To add or take out money, lift off the antennas. Ask your child what he thinks about the bank. How much does he think he’ll be able to save?
