Make a Ruff Plushie

Make a Ruff plushie — then slide him across the floor to win points!
Materials
Make the Plushie
Prepare the sock:
- To give your plushie its Ruff Ruffman color, soak the white sock for ten minutes in two cups of water with several drops of yellow and red food coloring. Wring out the water and hang dry or toss in the dryer.
- Lay the sock on a flat surface. Cut down the middle of the sock opening, stopping at the heel of the sock.
Create Ruff:
- Stuff the food of the sock with the extra socks.
- Working with the flaps you made in step 2 of the "Prepare the sock" section, tie a single knot at the base of each ear.
- Trim and shape the ends of the ears.
- Use a black marker to draw Ruff's eyes, nose, mouth, and tummy.
Play the Game
Print the target on the Ruff Ruffman Plushie printable. Cut it out and tape it to the floor — placing tape along the full length of each edge.
Kneel a few feet away from your target. Slide your Ruff plushie toward the target, aiming for the center.
See how many points you earn after six tries. Now try again. Change how far the plushie moves by sliding it harder or softer.
Tip: This game is best played on a smooth surface like wood or tile, but can be adapted for carpet by tossing the plushie instead of sliding it.
