Peg's Shape Chandelier

Jun 7, 2019

Add some math fun to your Peg + Cat party decorations with this shape chandelier.

Materials

Directions

1

Gather your supplies.

2

Print and cut out the geometric shapes. You may want to print more than one of each. Fold along the lines.

3

Cut several pieces of yarn, one per shape. Glue the end of a piece of yarn to an inside fold on each of the shapes.

4

Work around each shape, gluing the tabs inside the shape until the shape is a 3-D form.

5

Cut six pieces of yarn, each 2 feet long.

6

Tie 3 pieces of the yarn spaced evenly around the medium embroidery hoop, then lift them over the embroidery hoop and tie a knot at the top. The three strings should be the same length to the knot so the chandelier hangs evenly; if the lengths are not equal, the chandelier will hang crookedly.

7

Tie one end each of the other 3 pieces of yarn on the large embroidery hoop, then tie the other ends to the smaller hoop, trimming off the excess yarn to create a chandelier.

8

Tie the shapes along the two embroidery hoops, spreading them around until the chandelier is full of 3-D shapes.

9

Cut out the printable Peg + Cat characters and glue them to the outside rings of the embroidery hoops.

10

Hang the chandelier over the party table for a math-tastic good time.
