Smell Test: Can You Guess This Scent?

When we help kids tune into their senses we’re teaching them to observe and understand the world around them. This simple, fun activity will get your child thinking about their sense of smell.
Materials
Directions
Write the name of each scent on the bottom of an ice cube tray.
Add a little of the scent on a cotton ball and pop it in the correct spot of the tray.
Set up the scents so your child can test the cotton ball by smelling, then pointing to the correct bottle.
Ask your child to describe each scent. (“Does it smell good or bad? Does this smell like something you would want to eat? Where have you smelled this before?”)
