Thanksgiving Time Capsule

Teaching young children about being thankful can be tricky! Thankfulness is an abstract concept and kids thrive with concrete ideas. Doing something hands-on with your family is a great way to learn about and model the idea of thankfulness.
Materials
How to Prepare the Time Capsule
Cut the paper into strips.
Write the year on the end of the strip with marker, then write what you are thankful for. Have each member of your family do the same with their own strip.

Roll the notes up and pop them in the jar.

How to Dig and Bury
Take a walk around your yard and think about where would be a good place to bury it.
Take turns digging - notice how hard it is to dig a hole!

Place the capsule in the hole. Dig it up the following Thanksgiving and add more things you are thankful for!
