How to Make Woodland Creature Ornaments

Make an adorable DIY woodland creature ornament! This is a fun craft and gift idea for a wide range of ages.
Reindeer are often associated with Christmastime and cold, snowy climates, but there are other animals that are part of the winter landscape too. Learn more about the snowshoe hare, musk ox, elk, and Siberian tiger as the Wild Kratts go on an adventure to find more Christmas Creatures.
Then create your own woodland creatures with this cute ornament craft. Make one of the animals featured in the craft video, one of the animals featured in the Wild Kratts video, or think of your own fun and creative ways to make your favorite animal into an ornament for Christmastime or anytime.

Directions
Start by measuring your felt so it is long and wide enough to fit around the paper towel roll. Cut the piece, making sure to cut ears out of the felt as well.

Glue the felt to the paper towel roll.

Then glue button eyes onto your creature.

Next, glue on other felt details, such as patches and stripes - whatever suits your animal.

Glue on a pom-pom or smaller button to create a nose.

Tie the yarn into a small loop. Glue the knotted end of the loop to the inside of the woodland creature.

Cut out a small piece of felt, the same color as your woodland creature, in the shape of a square. Glue the square on top of the knotted end of the yarn loop to keep it in place.

You're all finished! Hang your finished ornament on the tree to bring some Christmas cheer.
