Mother’s Day Cyber-Berry Smoothie Recipe

Celebrate this Mother's Day with a Cyber-Berry Smoothie! Inspired by the “Cyberchase” episode, “A Berry Special Mother’s Day,” make a treat for you and your loved one. Use their favorite fresh or frozen berries to make it extra special.
Any time you are cooking in the kitchen as a family, you can practice math skills. Count cups out loud as you add them. Introduce fractions by measuring out each ingredient with measuring cups and spoons. Compare amounts and use words like “less than”, “more than”, and “equal”. Making math part of your everyday life makes it more fun for everyone!

First, measure the liquid ingredients (milk and apple juice). Pour the ¼ cup apple juice and 1 ½ cup milk or milk alternative into the blender.

Measure and add 3 cups berries, 1 banana, and ⅔ cup yogurt. If you are using fresh fruit, add 1 cup ice.

If you like your smoothie a little more sweet, add 1 tbsp honey.

Close up the blender and mix it all together.

Pour into two glasses and serve with love! This recipe makes enough for 2 large smoothies or 4 small smoothies.
