Nurses, doctors, and other health care providers take care of people every day. They use their knowledge, tools, kindness, and compassion to treat injuries and help people get well. But you don’t have to be a nurse or doctor to help people! From kids to adults, everyone can help and care for someone else.
In this video from “What Can You Become?,” we learn about what a nurse does and how they work with other people to take care of kids and families. Watch the video with your child and then ask them the questions below - or make up a few of your own!

Many kids like taking care of others. Through pretend play with baby dolls or taking care of a pet or plant, kids can develop nurturing skills that they can use throughout their whole lives.
