INNOVATIVE DESIGN STUDY

121

Architect: Studio Daniel Libeskind
The centerpiece of the Libeskind proposal was the 1776-foot tall Freedom Tower whose spire reflected the Statue of Liberty's outstretched arm and torch. The Freedom Tower would be home to the "Gardens of the World" on its upper levels. "Why gardens?" Libeskind wrote. "Because gardens are a constant affirmation of life."
