This team of well-known New York architects designed a project they called "Memorial Square," to create "a great public space for New York City." Buildings would occupy only 27 percent of the site, leaving 12 acres of land that could house multiple memorial sites. The team also proposed a floating memorial that would extend into the Hudson River.
