INNOVATIVE DESIGN STUDY

123

Architects: Richard Meier & Partners Architects, Eisenman Architects, Gwathmey Siegel & Associates, Steven Holl Architects
The critical reaction to this design was fairly negative. Edward Gunts wrote in the Baltimore Sun that the plan was "... as arrogant and inhuman in its own way as Yamasaki's twin towers..." while Philip Nobel wrote in The Nation that the design "... bordered on the embarrassing: five inscrutable towers ... tied by fat skyways into an imposing waffle that rears over twelve acres of windswept déjà vu."
