"They become victimized within what we would think of as expressionism. It’s the emotion of pounding on them or twisting off a leg that’s expressionistic, like a sculptural gesture, but in another way it’s like a brutal effect on the sculpture. And then it’s a form of abstracting, or of just directing energy at it."
