Adi and Rafi Aviv,
both 39, cosmetician and high-tech engineer
Rafi works in the high-tech
industry. Adi, his wife, is a cosmetician. They took a day off together
to stroll along the streets of Tel Aviv.
Adi: “I feel instability,
lots of fears and confusion. We don’t know the politicians. There
isn’t someone you can clearly say ‘I want him’; ‘this is the
man I sympathize with.’ I will decide at the last minute.”
Rafi plans to vote for Kadima,
headed by Ehud Olmert.
Rafi: “I think the Israeli
society is finally getting more mature; more realistic. A strong center
is being created that will make more realistic decisions and will strive
for solutions that will allow us to live in the area, even if takes
more unilateral withdrawals.”
The couple doesn’t agree
about Olmert.
Adi: “I don’t think I had
any problem with electing Sharon again; Olmert is a different story.”
Rafi: “Olmert is a reliable
and realistic man. True, he doesn’t have Sharon’s charisma, but
he certainly can provide the goods.”
Adi: “As I see it, Olmert
isn’t enough. I can’t see him making decisions and standing on his
own.”
