Education City

While America's reputation in the Middle East is hovering at historic lows, the demand for a U.S. university-branded education has never been greater. This week, NOW travels to the tiny energy-rich nation of Qatar to visit the largest collection of U.S. universities in the Middle East. The schools, including Carnegie Mellon and Georgetown, are warmly embraced and enthusiastically attended by students throughout the region. But is exporting American education a risky endeavor?

A Re-energized Electric Car?

The Nissan Motor Company has announced plans to sell an electric car by 2010 in the United States and Japan, part of what the automaker says is a strategy to make it the global leader in zero-emission vehicles. In the 1990s, General Motors launched the first modern-day commercially available electric car, the EV1, but the automobile never really took off.
