Christine M. Durham, chief justice of the Utah Supreme Court, has
served on the court since 1982, and is an active member of the Einstein
Institute for Science Health and the Courts. She also teaches a seminar on
constitutional law at the University of Utah College of Law and is a fellow of
the American Bar Foundation. A past president of the National Association of
Women Judges, Justice Durham was that organization's Honoree of the Year in
1997. Prior to her appointment to the Utah Third District Court in 1978 she was
a member of Johnson, Durham, & Moxley in Salt Lake City. She received her
J.D. from Duke University School of Law and holds an A.B. from Wellesley
