A small crowd, a large American flag on stage and a warehouse setting have become campaign event regulars for Mitt Romney as seen here in Sioux City. This was taken ahead of the Iowa caucuses that marked the start of a grueling primary season. Conservative former Sen. Rick Santorum surprised many with a late surge in the polls. Although Romney eked out a "win" on caucus night, final tallies later showed that Santorum had won by a few dozen votes.
