C.S. Lewis handpicked Pauline Baynes to illustrate the cover and interior art for the first publication of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" in 1950. Baynes's original cover art was re-distributed in 2010 for the 60th anniversary edition, as shown here.
In October of 1950, the first of seven fantasy novels in the Narnia series was published. C.S. Lewis has since influenced and affected generations of readers and writers.
