Making Your Own 'Combat Paper': A Step-by-Step Tutorial
For U.S. military veterans who choose to hand over their uniform to the Combat Paper Project, turning the cut-up pieces of uniform into a sheet of paper is cathartic process.
Based out of studios nationwide, the Combat Paper workshops provide a space for veterans to share their personal military experience through the art of paper-making with their uniforms used a paper base.
"We like to think of it as the reclamation part," David Keefe of the workshop told the NewsHour's Morgan Till as he walked him through the different steps.
"We want to reclaim it by making it something new...something different."
Watch Keefe as he walks through each step of the paper-making process.
