Shields and Brooks On Romney's Comedy Act, NewsHour Wonkiness

By: Christina Bellantoni

Syndicated columnist Mark Shields and New York Times columnist David Brooks weighed in this week on Mitt Romney's sense of humor and what to expect from Rep. Paul Ryan at the Republican National Convention.

I filled in as Doubleheader guest host for the last time this summer. Your regular (and far smarter on sports) host Hari Sreenivasan will return Monday at the convention in Tampa. In fact, the beloved trio will do a Doubleheader every day on our livestream on the home page around 5 p.m. EST.

For our "politics of sport" section, we checked in on what the guys think about the Lance Armstrong scandal.

Note: Watch to the end, as Politics producer Terence Burlij presents Mark and David with a very special present that demonstrates NewsHour's wonky spirit.

Justin Scuiletti shot and edited this video.
