Baptism by the Bridge

Baptism by the River
Baptism in the rural community in which I was raised was taken very seriously. The community elders believed in the process of "seeking" which was a form of catechism combined with an initiation ceremony in which the elders determine if you were ready for baptism. Baptisms were often done at low tide so that any negativity within the converts would be taken out with the tide.
