The use of pesticides in the United States is subject to national regulation, but states also have individual laws. Below is a state-by-state listing of the agencies in charge of regulating pesticides use, environmental agencies and health departments. Use these state web sites to find the names of your local officials and other important information. For example, The Texas Department of Agriculture provides information on worker protection and state licenses for those using pesticides. The Colorado Department of Public Health (among many others) provides daily air quality information. The Minnesota Agronomy and Plant Protection Division offers advice on protecting plants and crops as well as monitoring local water quality for pesticide impact.
