In the Valley of the Wolves
Video: Full Episode

The Druids are the most celebrated wolf pack in North America. For almost a decade, they have held the Lamar Valley in northern Yellowstone. The valley is prime winter grazing for thousands of elk and thus the most coveted wolf country in all the Park. Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Bob Landis has chronicled the adventures of the Druids since their very beginnings and in this, his third film on the wolves, the Druids find themselves in trouble for the very first time. After reaching the astonishing number of 37 members, the largest wolf-pack on record, the Druids begin to decline. Their leaders are failing with age and new packs are crossing their borders looking to claim the valley. This is the three year story of the fall and rise of the most famous wolves in America, their battles against rival wolves to hold on to their beautiful range, the dramatic twists in fortune that banish them from their valley, and the perseverance and devotion that bring them home at last. “Nothing worth having is easy to hold” Is a movings closing statement. My love of wolves intensified during this movie, and they whole thing was remarkable. I loved the entire thing and couldn’t miss a second. The Druid Wolves really are worth celebrating. A story of hope and strength that should inspire, even humans, to never give up. In short terms, I loved it.

In the film valley of the wolves the female coyote survived with her pups? They say mating coyotes are for life but if one dies the other one will find a new partner? In the film the female reared her pups and found new love?

Thank you so much to all involved. As a high school Environmental Science teacher I greatly value resources like this. Because of all your hard work I am able to bring Yellowstone into my classroom for my students. The educational resources are very well done.

Who needs kids to have fun on Halloween!? My kids (which really are not anymore 21 and 24) We still get together for Christmas and Thanksgiving, but the most looked forward to holiday is Oct. 31. Half the time we don’t know who we are, because we meet at the same place each year along with a lot of our friends and pretty much try to figure out who is who. And of course you have to have the best costume. Can’t let your kid show you up. I have been looking into my costume for over a month now.

  22. kids says:

Is the 2nd Saturday free only for the kids, or may the adult bringing the children also gain free admittance?

I was very appreciative of the way you communicated truth from scripture concerning the article in today’s paper. God truly has His hand on you and I’m honored to know that not everyone is given to compromise. Keep up the good work and know that the Lord has reserved a HUGE # that has not bowed down! Great devotional and I’d love to get them daily if possible.

  30. Lorie Hammond says:

Thankyou, If I am not allowed to live in the Deep forest, then it is nice, and heart warming to see all the creatures and wolves in the wild, living life as it is meant to be. It was nice hearing them again. I miss hearing them at night. Gods children are free unlike me. We need to protect the wild creatures and the wolves. I just wish someone will send me home to live amongst them in the untame wild. So my heart, body, and soul would be happy and free like them. Thankyou Sincerely, Lorie Michele Hammond Gods other: forest child
