One of the world’s best known animal researchers surveys the results of more than three decades of painstaking study in JANE GOODALL’S WILD CHIMPANZEES.
When legendary scientist Jane Goodall first came to Tanzania more than 35 years ago to study the chimpanzees of Gombe National Park, the vast, flourishing forest teemed with apes. Today, the park is ravaged by logging, and home to only about 40 chimps, who live confined to a few protected square miles.
But the chimp population in Gombe remains abuzz with drama and intrigue. Of the many chimps Ms. Goodall got to know when she began her studies in 1960, just one — Fifi — is alive today. And Fifi’s two eldest sons, Freud and Frodo, are now locked in a power struggle over the title of top-ranking male, a conflict that is dominating life in the community.

Hello to anyone who reads this, Im at school right now posting this thingie…I have a project on Ms. Goodall and frankly speaking shes amazing.. Its a wonder how she can bond with a creature such as a chimpanzee so wonderfuly.. Its amazing that shes still alive today and I marvle at her work. She is a great person with a strong heart. My 10 year old daughter randomly chose Jane Goodall for a biography report in her 4th grade class. She just “loves” monkeys and thinks they are “so cute”. She didn’t put much effort into the report at first (always looking for the easy way out!)but once she started paying attention and realized what Jane’s cause is all about, she saw herself through Jane’s story and ended up writing a 4 pg. report, even though only 1 page was required… Thank you for inspiring my daughter (and the rest of the world, too!)

For school we had to do a speech on who we most admire, I did my speech on Jane of course and got 19/2 out of 20! I was so proud of it.
I admire Jane very much and love the work she is doing. Also I was born on the year of the monkey, lol, so I myself act like one at times. I am an avid lover of monkeys, theyre my favourite animal, all apes have such an amazing personality and are quite entertaining to watch on the Discovery channel, when I watch it with my mum we laugh at the vast similarities the chimps have to our family!

I love what you do for a living jane goodall you are my inspiration I want to be just like you and I want to be a naturelist just like you I did want to be a vet but I didn’t want to put animals to sleep even if it meant they wouldn’t have to suffer because I wouldn’t know if thats what they would want and then I heard about you and what you did and I wanted to be a naturelist and help animals because I wanted a job that would help animals or people then I started thinking that people have everything but animals don’t have much because people take their enviroment and thats not right.

Jane I think that the way you studied Chimpanzees was very amazing i saw some videos at school and thought may be i would like to try that as wel.!!!!
