Sean Murphy

Sean Murphy

Team Purpose: I wanted to volunteer in the medical field abroad. I first thought of Africa, we all hear day to day how terrible things are there, but I thought to myself: what does this mean in actuality, and what sort of effect would a trip there have on a person?  I then realized that I could potentially make a greater difference than just being a medic by filming and sharing a journey to Uganda with my peers and others back home. I could have the chance to talk to people who I have tremendous admiration for, and interview them about their life and work. This way I could gain much more insight into international careers and volunteer work, and perhaps inspire others to follow this nontraditional path. As it turns out, I got all the medical experience I needed visiting the site of the Ebola epidemic.
