WATCH: Former HUD Secretary Marcia Fudge on becoming co-chair of Harris’ campaign

In an interview with PBS News on the final night of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Marcia Fudge reflected on her friendship with Vice President Kamala Harris and getting the call to be on Harris’ campaign after President Joe Biden stepped aside from the race in July.

“I watched her on day one of this administration and I watch her now. You talk about the growth. She’s got her swagger back and I’m loving watching it,” Fudge said.

When Harris was interviewing candidates for the role of her running mate, Fudge said Harris sought out her input.

“I said, ‘I don’t want to tell you what I think because I’m gonna support whoever you pick.’ She says, ‘But I want to know what you think,'” Fudge recalled. “So we have that kind of relationship.”
