Watch Pelosi’s remarks in the player above. “Clearly and sadly, this president is not listening to medical experts and I don’t know which ones he is listening to, if any,” Pelosi said during her weekly news briefing. “Without science in our decision-making, we are not going to be on a very successful path,” she said. Pelosi spoke shortly before Trump signed a bill delivering nearly $500 billion to employers and hospitals suffering from extraordinary strains from the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing measures. In a signing ceremony, Trump said his comments about injecting disinfectant had been sarcastic. The parent company of Lysol warned consumers not to consume its chemicals under any circumstances.
