Soccer journalist Grant Wahl’s body returned to the U.S.

A senior State Department official says the body and possessions of soccer journalist Grant Wahl have been repatriated to the United States after his death last week while covering the World Cup in Qatar.

Prominent American sports journalist Grant Wahl died suddenly on Saturday while covering the World Cup in Qatar, during the waning minutes of the quarterfinal match between Argentina and the Netherlands. Geoff Bennett reports.

Soccer journalist Grant Wahl, 49, dies at World Cup match in Qatar

Grant Wahl, an American journalist who helped grow the popularity of soccer in the U.S. and reported on some of the biggest stories in the sport, died Saturday while covering a World Cup match between Argentina and the Netherlands.
