As of 6 p.m. EST Friday, the Associated Press had reported 35 people dead in the attacks, and at least 100 people being held in Bataclan concert hall. Obama stressed that U.S. officials do not yet know the details of what happened, but said the U.S. would offer assistance to the government and people of France. The U.S. is “going to do whatever it takes to work with the French people and with nations around the world to bring these terrorists to justice,” he said. Secretary of State John Kerry echoed Obama’s message. “These terrorist attacks will only deepen our shared resolve,” he said. We're not going anywhere.
